Commercial Extended Aeration Wastewater Treatment Systems

Gainey’s Concrete offers advanced packaged commercial extended-aeration wastewater treatment plants designed to provide effective, scalable solutions for communities and large-scale developments. As a partner you can rely on, we deliver state-of-the-art treatment systems that serve housing developments of all sizes, from as few as 5 homes to expansive communities up to 850 homes or 1,000,000 gallons per day (GPD). Manufactured at our Louisiana facility and shipped across the southeastern U.S., our systems are engineered to meet rigorous standards, including TDEC, LDH, LDEQ, and the “Ten States Standards” requirements. Our precast treatment systems can also be installed in stages, making them ideal for phased projects.

Gainey’s wastewater systems are engineered to exceed traditional extended aeration limits, achieving as low as

10 mg/L BOD₅ / 15 mg/L TSS

and even lower at 5 mg/L BOD₅ / 5 mg/L TSS

with tertiary filtration

With precast concrete tanks designed to 5,000 PSI, Gainey’s systems are built to last 50–100 years.

Designed with off-the-shelf components, Gainey’s systems are easy to operate, maintain, and service, which reduces downtime and complexity.

Unlike fixed-film systems that foul or require specialized components,

Gainey’s extended aeration systems are built for real-world conditions, not ideal lab scenarios

industry glossary

Extended Aeration
A type of biological wastewater treatment where air is added to waste for a longer period to help microbes break down organic matter. It’s a variation of the activated sludge process commonly used in small or package treatment plants.

Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP)
A system that removes contaminants from sewage or industrial wastewater so the treated water can be safely discharged or reused.

GPD (Gallons Per Day)
A flow capacity measurement indicating how much wastewater the system can treat in one day.

Precast
Concrete components manufactured off-site and shipped ready to install, as opposed to poured in place.

TDEC, LDH, LDEQ, Ten States Standards
Regulatory or engineering standards for water/wastewater design and discharge limits used in Tennessee, Louisiana, and across several states

Modular Tanks
Individual precast concrete tank sections that can be combined or scaled to meet capacity requirements.
